Domestic Violence Survivor : Melissa Holmes

Brave, strong and powerful are an understatement when you mention The Queen Ms.Melissa Holmes. Taking the lessons she has learned in her 2 life encounters of domestic misery and violence, she took to social media to help other women who may have suffered from the same torment she had endured. 7 years ago, Melissa's group page "Love shouldn't hurt NY inc" became an instant hit, aiding the victims and survivors of domestic violence.Soon after, She decided to take her story on the road, creating a seminar called "From pain to purpose, my new chapter", Covering a variety of major states.

She has a bunch of networking events coming in spring of 2018, all to empower women who have also walked in the same footsteps as she did. Last year She launched a conference called, “Unmasking the Truth”, About Domestic Violence and have been on tour ever since going to various states. Unmasking the truth about Domestic Violence is a platform Melissa created to give other survivors a voice for the first time. They share there journeys of domestic violence and how they survived and what they are currently doing in their lives. Regardless of their past circumstances, they didn't let their past define their futures. Now Ms.Holmes is still empowering women with her latest document, 'invisible scars of domestic violence', shedding light on women like herself who have suffered as well.

She will be launching her up and coming stage play in the fall of 2018 called, “Love Shouldn't Hurt”. This phenomenal woman did not let what she had been through slow her down or stop her from empowering other women. Domestic violence isn’t something that should be played with or handled lightly. Ms.Holmes could have suffered in silence but she chose to use her pain as a platform and prove that pain can be used as a lesson! Not only for herself but for others.
